Dedicated to helping people improve their health and wellbeing, the Priory Group provides a range of mental health and addiction treatments in hospitals and rehab centres around the UK.

The perceived problem

It’s well known that around 1 in 4 people in the UK experience mental health problems each year. But those who do are often afraid to seek help. How they choose to cope with anxiety and depression is becoming ever-more worrying, as the numbers of people who self-harm or have suicidal thoughts continues to increase. The UK is also known as ‘the addictions capital of Europe’.

Address the stigma around mental health that still persists and show that help is out there. To do this, we:

Developed an integrated campaign to raise awareness of the effects of stress, depression and addiction

Created concepts around identifying symptoms, such as the ‘Stress Checklist’

Created messaging that clearly communicated the benefits of consultation versus medication

Used a mix of media and channels to get the message across in the right places, including both national and regional campaigns (linked to their network of hospitals)

Constantly monitored performance and adjusted creative treatments accordingly
